The grass is greener on Celebrity Reflection - A look at the Lawn Club
What seemed like another cruise ship gadget at first, the Lawn Clubs on the latest Celebrity vessels have turned into a unique selling point in their own right. Indeed, there is something special about lounging on a real grass lawn while gazing over the blue Caribbean or Mediterranean. When I joined the brand new Celebrity Reflection in October, 2012, for a two-night delivery voyage from Eemshaven to Amsterdam, Netherlands, the Lawn Club was one of the most popular places of the ship. Mind you, we're talking about a serious stretch of grass here.

Much thought has gone into making this area attractive around the clock. And it works. Part sun deck, part sports deck by day, Celebrity occasionally organizes candlelight wine & cheese parties on the lawn when the sun sets. An all-day snack bar (The Porch), a trendy lounge bar (Sunset Bar) and an alfresco restaurant (The Lawn Club Grill) are all close by. And late at night, you see many people taking a stroll before bedtime. It's all quite brilliant! There is one downside to the expanse of grass though: it takes the place normally reserved for the traditional sun deck. So if you're looking for a padded lounge chair in the sun, you will have to venture to the busy forward poolside section. Or, as friends of mine did, you can bring your towel and your sunscreen, order a cool drink and settle down on the lawn. So, is the grass greener on Celebrity Reflection? I think so!
